The Committee

 

Noëlle Gerards – Chair  

Hi everyone, I am Noëlle, 22 years old and a first year master student of Medical Engineering. Next to my studies, I like to play volleyball, go skiing when it is possible and I also love to read. Before this committee, I have also been part of the iGEM competition in 2019 where I worked a lot in the lab and was also responsible for sponsoring. I joined this committee because I have always liked traveling a lot and because I have a big interest in how the Biomedical Engineering field is abroad.

Within the BuEx committee, I have the role of chair. I am looking forward to organizing the trip to Ireland with the rest of the committee and making sure that there is something to do on this trip for everyone!

Dan Yang Wester – Secretary & Vice-Chair

Hey everyone, I am Dan Yang Wester, a third-year bachelor student in Biomedical Engineering. In my spare time I like to exercise and hang out with friends. The BuEx committee is my third committee for Protagoras, after the Parents Day and Gala committee, and I will be fulfilling the functions of secretary and vice-chair. This will mean I am responsible for all correspondence with the companies and the students and if the chair, Noëlle, is absent I will be responsible for her tasks as well.

I am looking forward to organize this year’s study trip to Ireland with the rest of the committee, to give all participating students an impression of biomedical engineering abroad. I have never been to Ireland before and therefore I am very excited to visit both cultural places as well as educational institutes.

Anne Bras – Treasurer

Hi! My name is Anne and I am 19 years old. The position I hold is treasurer and I am currently in my third year of the bachelor Biomedical Engineering at TU/e. Traveling is one of my passions to discover new cultures. After crossing Thailand off my list, the next one will be Japan. That is why I thought it would be a great opportunity to organize a study trip, but a little closer to home. I am an expert in crossing borders. I do it every week from the Netherlands to Belgium since my parents and work are in Belgium. Besides my study, I am also involved in skiing, swimming, water skiing, and ice skating.

 

Eva Beek – Sponsor Coordinator & Vice-Treasurer

Hi everyone! My name is Eva Beek and I am in my third year of the bachelor Biomedical Engineering. This is my second committee for Protagoras since I was the chair of the Almanak committee last year. Furthermore, I am a member of Fellenoord, where I am the treasurer of the Creacie committee, play competitions, and train once a week.

I am really looking forward to organizing an amazing trip to Ireland with the rest of the committee while developing my skills as sponsor coordinator and vice-treasurer.

 

Iris Schilthuis – Excursion coordinator & Logistics

Hi everyone! My name is Iris Schilthuis and I am in my fourth year of the bachelor Biomedical Engineering. Besides my study, I was the chair of SensUs, have been a tutor, and give training. In my free time, I love to play hockey and watch (a lot of) series.

Within the BuEx 2022 committee, I will be responsible for the logistics and excursions and I’m really looking forward to an amazing week in Ireland!

 

Marit Kunnen – Public Relations

Hi everyone! My name is Marit Kunnen and I am a third-year Biomedical Engineering student. Originally, I am from Friesland but for this study, I had to move to Eindhoven and now I live there for 3 years. In my spare time, I like to play Tennis, cook delicious food and meet with friends. I have done a few committees at the study association Protagoras such as the Parent’s Day and the Almanak.

I joined the BuEx committee because I love traveling and discovering new cultures. In the committee I will be responsible for the PR, a function I have not done before so I hope to learn a lot. I am looking forward to organize an amazing trip to Ireland with this committee and I hope the BuEx 2022 will be a success!
